Winning Singing Women

HWFC enourage fun and enjoyement from training to matches and social gatherings.  Although we're competitive, we like to make you welcome and we play positive friendly football in the hope that you'll stay around for a long time.  We like to win, but our main aim is to enjoy our game and play as a team with our supporter(s) singing and cheering us on.

 The Teams

HWFC currently has two teams, a First team and a Reserve team.  Both teams currently play in the Greater London Women's Football league, in Division One North and Division Two North respectively.  Our home ground is Hackney Marshes in East London with training varying between St Thomas More School (Wood Green) in Winter and Clissold Park in Summer.

 Tournaments

We enter a number of tournaments all over the country and sometimes abroad during the close season.  These are open to all players and are on a first come first served basis.  They are great fun, especially when we get to go away on a Hackney weekender-an experience in itself and something I'm sure you'll hear all about.

 Social

After training and matches we usually go for a drink.  We also organise informal gatherings such as ten-pin bowling, meals and trips to matches.  We sometimes put on club fundraisers like discos and quiz nights.  All players, partners and friends are encouraged to attend.  HWFC is a diverse and entertaining group of women who like to play well on and off the pitch.
